Armorials Update – Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Poland

There are a lot of additions and changes to this section.

First up, 21 new armorials have been added, probably half of which I found just this week while working on fixing links.

Genealogische Nachrichten, f. 9v
Meyer, Dietrich: Waapenbuch der Wolgebornen Edlen und Bürgerlichen Geschlächten, p. 2

A couple of armorials have vanished from the internet. I’ll keep an eye out for them, and re-post them if the turn up.

  • Richental Chronik, 1483 German (Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Darmstadt, Ms Inc III 55)
  • Wappenbuch, c. 1567 German (Klagenfurt, Kärntner Landesarchiv, Geschichtsverein, Cod. 5/29)

And not exactly new, but the following armorial previously had only 10 pages online, and now the full manuscript, with over 600 pages, is available.

Jörg Rugen: Wappenbuch, f. 180r

I’ve also done some organizing of the print sources that have multiple copies available, such as Siebmacher’s Wappenbuch, which has resulted in the combining of things that I’d previously considered separate sources.

So after the dust has settled on all of that, the region is now up to 210 sources.
