Armorials Update – Great Britain and Ireland

I’ve got a lot of updates to my list of armorials to do – both new sources to add, and broken links to fix. Rather than trying to do it all in one go, I’ll be going one region at a time.

First up, Great Britain and Ireland, which has 6 new sources, bringing the total up to 68. The majority of these new sources are Welsh.

Argent, a chevron between three boar's heads couped close sable
Dyfeisiau herodaidd, p. 44
Gules, three double-headed eagles argent
Cronicl byr, p. 225
A lion passant guardant Or
Gruffudd Hiraethog, p. 429
Per bend sinister ermine and counter-ermine, a lion Or
Cantrefi a chymydau Cymru, p. 234
Ermine, two bars gemel gules
Siege of Caerlaverock, f. 14r
Gules, three covered cups Or
Irish Nobility E, f. 14r

I’ve also fixed a number of broken links, or linked to better versions of the manuscripts. I’ve left the broken links in place for the British Library sources that are unavailable due to the October 2023 cyber-attack, as placeholders for when the sources are put back up.
